Well... lookie here, it's a Sam confessional. I didn't do any for Episode 1. I don't know how many I'll do this season. I'm not in the mood I guess. Everything else takes up hours and hours of my time. After all that work on the game, I'm really not in the mood to type what I already know. This won't be a recap, but I do have to start creating that so I don't forget. Another thing to add to my to-do list...
I need to say that I am just overwhelmed by the amount of activity and energy this cast has. I absolutely love it. So so many fantastic characters. It's sad we had to lose Jakub so quickly. While I could gush on and on about so many different people, I'm going to center on some little dramas haha. It's kinda wierd - as a host it doesn't matter if 95% of the cast is happy, active, and excited about the game it's that 5% that worries you. I try not to focus on it and I'm doing a good job but here it is anyway.
Before I start let me ramble. I've been hosting forever. I think I've become desensitized to a lot of things. Like Jakub being voted out over Tyler - that would have ENRAGED me even during Spies 2. I would have been sputtering, furious, and probably would have just yanked Tyler out right there. That whole thing was disgusting. But this time, though I recognized it was yucky, it didn't really hit me as hard as it would have before. I don't know why, maybe I'm just getting older and less emotional. Could be that.
Another thing is, I've done a lot of secret groups of people in my games lol. It never gets old for me. My first game I disguised a secret tribe of 6 people for like 18 days. Fourth game I kept a secret an entire 12-person GAME of people a secret in Sidestory, where the winner would have entered the main game. In Asteria All-Stars every single person in the game was kept a secret until they met each other which for one tribe was like 40 days. So you can say I have a bit of experience with that.
Each one had varying degrees of success, though all were incredibly satisfactory. But like with each of those, I was kind of... incredibly possessive over it. I *DESPERATELY* wanted those groups of people to be a secret. If I found out someone was telling, I would get really angry and go on a witch hunt and all this stupid stuff. I would do anything to keep it a secret, because I felt that it had to be a secret for the game to function.
Actually... maybe that's it. Honestly I don't really care if these 11 secret people are kept a secret, in fact coming into this game I fully expected it to be leaked. And you know what maybe it has already been leaked, that's fine. Maybe it's just not important to me because it's not necessary for the health of the game. That could be it.
Why I say all this is because of Spies 3's two idlers: Brooks (Dylan) and Tyler (Nohea). Both are young, from TVNAIE, in too many survivor games, and inactives. It was my mistake to cast either, I fully own that. (In my defense there was some people I casted who, just from their short answers to their applications, I didn't know how they would do and they turned out fantastically.) I actually talked to both Dylan and Nohea on AIM and cleared everything with them, including the fact that they knew each other and that they were playing lots of games and in hawaii. They are sort of online friends I think.
Brooks/Dylan signed on in the first day, posted "Hey Sweet Confessional" and IM'ed one person like "Hi" and then never logged on for the next five days. So I replaced him with Patrick as Brooks. It was my fault to cast Dylan, especially since he's 14 and I have a age limit of 15. Tyler is a little more complicated. Actually until today I would have just said it's the same... but apparently he logged on AIM tonight and is doing the race. o_0
I was just hoping he'd go away or I'd pluck him out of the game. Here's the thing, I was worried about replacing Dylan since he would tell Nohea that I took him out and then spill the secret 11 (I don't know maybe he did do that.) That's why I was really careful with both of them. I didn't want that to be spilled so I had to walk on eggshells. Remember Tyler is the one who in the opening chat said "Dylan can't make this chat Sam" o_0
Another thing I was worried about is that Tyler would spill this Challenge #1: Race and give everyone the passwords to get back at me or something. He still might, I don't know. I mean I did kick out his friend and SLAM him publically at Exile, saying I wished he was gone lol. So I think it might happen, he could easily spill the 11 secret or the Race.
But he doesn't seem like a malicious person really. He's been pretty nice about it all so far. So maybe he won't. Anyway, as a host I've matured and kind of learned to let the game twist and turn and develop as it does, even in wierd situations like this. Usually it's better to hold off on a decision or never say anything at all unless you have to. So we'll see how this plays out. I tend to have the belief now that if something happens it was kinda "meant" to happen (not divinely meant, I mean meant based on the circumstances and starting rules and people in the game).
Yeah anyway so that's that. There are some "lower key" players at the moment which is fine, because they are MORE than sufficiently active and I <3 them.
Besides that...
I'm really excited for the reveal this Exile. I've been waiting for that for a long time and I just love the idea of intermixing it with TAR results. As a host I get off on big surprises / reveals... and you really can't get much bigger than this. Which reminds me this is only Episode #2 and there's a loooooong way to go haha I have to make sure there's enough excitement in later episodes. I mean I know the cast will carry it more than enough, so I only have to do little things here and there but still.
I like my roles... though most are kinda passive or non-interactive. Though really in Spies 2... well that had Psychic, Card Reader, Gambler, Ballot Stuffer... 2 of those are interactive. My big interactive ones this time are Gift Giver and Builder. Builder has already been revealed to the Spies lol, I thought that one would last a LOT longer but Anneliese just spilled within the first few days to like 5 people. =/ But the good thing about Builder is that it doesn't do anything until the Bunker is complete, so even though the role is revealed it still has a lot of interesting tension.
Do or Die is really powerful, much more powerful that it seems.
Anyway.... I don't really have any other ideas on what to type about, other than Exile #1 was CRAZY!!! The next ones will only be crazier I bet.
