EXILE #4
Judge Sam: “This episode has already been different than any that have come before it. Before people kept information mostly to themselves and the Burg was a quiet place. This episode has seen an explosion of information – from theories and accusations posted publically in the Burg to an outpouring of information posted anonymously at the Costume Party. Will the change in attitude and the existence of all of this new information bring change to Exiles? I suppose it can’t make it any worse.
Again I would like to thank each and every one of your for your fantastic and lengthy confessionals. I enjoy reading each and every one. I wish I could comment personally each time you write, and I do try sometimes, but the amount of people in the game and the amount of other work I do prevents me from doing this. Plus I find myself at a loss to say anything else than “well… sounds interesting.” =) Thank you all for posting your thoughts, conversations, and suspicions, I really appreciate it.
The Costume Party will be ending soon, but before it does we have one more little tidbit for you, that will be coming tomorrow. (Aside: the song I’m listening to right now is called Only People Who Saw It by the Spyweirdos hahaha, no joke) But for now we must get to the votes.”
Sam stands up resolutely, picks up the voting shoebox, and begins walking amongst the townspeople. One by one, they drop their vote into the shoebox. Some are satisfied with their choice, others are nervous and unsure. Everyone - Citizens and Spies alike - are praying that their name does not come up.
Judge Sam: "All of the votes have been received and verified, and a result has been decided. Let the Exiling begin."
I have a special announcement to make before tonight’s votes are counted. As you may or may not heard, there have been rumors floating around about a mysterious “Gift Giver,” who, like Santa Claus, gives gifts to people occasionally. I can now confirm that this role exists. The Gift Giver selects people to receive special gifts. The Gift Giver can only select a person for a gift once, this includes themselves.
In this Episode the Gift Giver has given someone the gift of extra votes. Who these extra votes would be given to was decided completely by the person receiving the gift. This person has cast their extra votes, here they are:
Extra Vote #1: Jennipher.
Extra Vote #2: Jennipher.
Extra Vote #3: Raphael.
Jennipher has two, Raphael has one. Let’s get to the real votes. The following eight votes will be for eight different people.
Vote the first:
Carrie, by Matthew.
Anneliese, by Tenchi.

Jennipher - You have been Exiled from the Burg under suspicion of being a Spy. It is now your time to leave. Goodbye.
Judge Sam: "I am very sorry to see you go Jennipher. I know this is the first full-length game with its own board that you’ve played and you did fantastically. I couldn’t have asked for a more dedicated player. You did great and you were always positive, thanking me for things even when you didn’t have to. I wish I had told you how much I enjoyed reading your confessionals when you wrote them because they were great and very informative. You adjusted to the game quickly and got into the groove of things and made a positive impact on the game. At the beginning it looked like other people suspected you, but after that first round I thought you were in it for the long haul and this came as a great surprise to me tonight. I wish you could have had more time in the game but perhaps you are the lucky one, the remaining players still have a long future of stress and uncertainty ahead of them!”
Jennipher: Please post Final Words in your confessional immediately.
Jennipher takes one last look at their former friends. Saddened by being suspected of a Spy by the people they trusted, they take their supplies and compass and head out into the wilderness, disappearing into the sunset. You will never see them again.
It is now time to find out if this person was truly a Spy. If they were, we will rejoice in becoming one step closer to safety and security. If they were not, we just cast out an innocent soul. Someone just like us. Someone who wanted to eliminate the Spies just as badly as we do.
Jennipher was a....
CITIZEN.
Judge Sam: “Oh dear. Here we go again, the arguments are gonna start up once more. We’re batting zero for four. Are the Citizens just a naturally suspicious lot? Are the Spies so deeply embedded within us that they control who we go after, or are they just so unsuspicious that they can afford to sit back and laugh while we pick off each other? As Citizens leave this game left and right, the percentage of Spies in the game reaches higher and higher and it might become even harder to know who to trust.
As you know, Episode 4 was heralded as the Biggest Episode Ever. At chat today you all agreed this Episode felt like it lasted twice as long as the last, even though both were 4 days. I’ve got some news: this Episode is about to get a little longer.
First the Spies struck by taking away a Citizen from us in Sujata at the very start of this Episode. Then the Citizens struck back by saving one of our own from Imprisonment. Then the Spies got revenge by forcing us to eliminate one of our own at this Exile. In two days, the Citizens will get a chance to turn the tables once more.
*winds up Exile clock two days*
Episode 4 is a pre-determined Double Exile Round. On Thursday night another one of us will be Exiled under suspicion of being a Spy. This time, let’s hope we’re right. We can’t afford any more missed opportunities. I’ll see you then.
A wise old owl sat on an oak;
The more he saw the less he spoke;
The less he spoke the more he heard;
Why aren't we like that wise old bird?
