EXILE #5
Judge Sam: “Announcements:
1) I know you guys are very appreciative of all the one hundred hours and counting I put into the game to keep it running constantly with new content. Unfortunately I don’t accept gifts. =) But if you were feeling grateful I would ask that maybe you could spread word of this game by word-of-mouth to anyone you think would enjoy watching the game or playing in a future one.
Just casually mentioning the site or recommending it to friends or people you know on a message board you visit would mean so much to me. Advertising is without a doubt the hardest part of hosting. It’s hard to express what Spies is and what it offers to new people, yet the game requires many new players to survive. The more people who are watching and applying means a better game for everyone.
If I post a thread where I’m advertising the game, maybe you could spend 2 minutes saying something nice about it. Or if you have a Digg account you could click here and Digg it for me. Little stuff like that really goes a long way and I appreciate it.
2) Sometimes people forget to post the conversations they have during hectic Exile times. That’s where a lot of the juiciest stuff happens. It’s understandable because you guys are on for an hour and a half chatting with tons of people, then you have to sit through a half-hour Exile, then you just want a break. That’s more than okay, but if you could post those in the next day or two it would be appreciated.”
Sam stands up resolutely, picks up the voting shoebox, and begins walking amongst the townspeople. One by one, they drop their vote into the shoebox. Some are satisfied with their choice, others are nervous and unsure. Everyone - Citizens and Spies alike - are praying that their name does not come up.
Judge Sam: "All of the votes have been received and verified, and a result has been decided. Let the Exiling begin."
Wow, I've never quite seen a vote like this in all the games I've hosted. Three different people have received an almost equal amount of votes, and for the first time in a long time no one has cast a stray vote. It's easily the most interesting and closest one to date.
It’s too bad none of you are going to see it.
Someone has activated their special ability tonight. Let me explain the ability first. It is called Do or Die. The person with the Do or Die ability has the power to throw away the votes at Exile. Instead they will select one person they believe to be a Spy. If that person is a Spy, they will be Exiled immediately.
If that person is a Citizen, they have nothing to fear. Even if they are chosen they will not be going anywhere. Instead, the Do or Die person will be Exiled in their place.
It's a huge risk to take, but it could single-handedly pluck out a well disguised Spy with only one person suspecting them. Or it could morph a well-manipulated scheme by the Spies into the Citizen's advantage.
Trina has decided to use her Do or Die ability tonight.
To recap: Votes thrown out. Trina chooses someone. If they are a Spy, they go. If they are a Citizen, Trina goes.
Trina has selected to use her Do or Die power on…
Jordan.
Final Vote Count:
1: Jordan
Jordan has been selected by Trina to use the Do or Die ability on.
If Jordan is a Citizen, he stays and Trina is Exiled.
If Jordan is a Spy, he is Exiled and Trina stays.
Trina will now bet her life in the game that Jordan is a Spy.
If Jordan is a Citizen, he stays and Trina is Exiled.
If Jordan is a Spy, he is Exiled and Trina stays.
Trina will now bet her life in the game that Jordan is a Spy.
Jordan is a...
Citizen
Trina - You have been Exiled from the Burg due to failure to succesfully activate your Do or Die power. It is now your time to leave. Goodbye.
Judge Sam: "You have brought so much to the game Trina that it will be sad to continue on without you. I can’t thank you enough for your constant activity, enthusiasm, intelligence, punctuality, and astounding confessionals. You would update with your thoughts once or twice a day. Your confessionals are a treasure and I know everyone will enjoy them after the game. I can’t think of a single bad thing to say about you, I never once had to correct, guide, or look after you, you marched on all by yourself.
You’ve had an amazing journey in the game and I suspect you felt you may be Imprisoned soon which is why you elected to use your ability. It may have been a smart move. Good has come out of it and you will always be remembered for sacrificing yourself for the cause of the Citizens. Let us hope others are inspired by that sacrifice and carry the flag that you have carried for so long. I’ll talk to you more soon.”
Trina: Please post Final Words in your confessional immediately.
Trina takes one last look at their former friends. Saddened by being suspected of a Spy by the people they trusted, they take their supplies and compass and head out into the wilderness, disappearing into the sunset. You will never see them again.
It is now time to find out if this person was truly a Spy. If they were, we will rejoice in becoming one step closer to safety and security. If they were not, we just cast out an innocent soul. Someone just like us. Someone who wanted to eliminate the Spies just as badly as we do.
Trina was a....
Citizen
Judge Sam: “Woah. Talk about a shock there. Trina had previously announced her role by posting it publicly in the Burg, but she later claimed she had been lying about the role. I guess she was lying about lying to help the Citizens.
Trina was a saint, throwing herself in the line of fire to help the Citizens achieve victory. She put her life in the game on the line to catch a Spy or confirm a Citizen. While she may have been unsuccessful in catching a Spy, her sacrifice will not soon be forgotten as the ramifications of her decision will be felt for a long time to come. Thank you Trina for giving so much to the game and working so hard to find the Spies. It is appreciated by all. Your selfless act will be remembered for sometime to come. You may have saved another innocent Citizen from a wrongful Exile tonight. I’m sure that person is grateful.
Thursday night at 8:00 PM CST is **live** Imprisonment #6, where another one of us will be taken. Immediately after that, live in a chatroom, will be Challenge #2 where all players will compete for a valuable prize: an investigation. If you win this challenge you will be granted the right to ask one question: “Is ______ a Citizen or a Spy?” I will provide you the answer, giving you concrete evidence to help support your other theories. Be sure to be online at 8:00 PM CST Thursday if you can.
I’ll see you then.
To be successful, sacrifices must be made. It's better that they are made by others but failing that, you'll have to make them yourself.
