EXILE #6
Judge Sam: “Welcome to Exile #6.
Well aren’t we just one big happy family here. There’s been a lot of arguing going on lately, which is understandable considering the situation we find ourselves in. We are quickly approaching the end of the game even though we still have 14 people left in it. The odds are clearly stacked against us with 5 Spies to catch in just 8 Exiles. There are so many successful Spies around they undoubtedly have influence in most areas of the game. You might log on AIM and see four other people on and all of them could be Spies!
With 12 out of 21 Citizens already gone, the remaining 9 have a lot of work to do to catch up. Those 9 are fortunate to still be here, avoiding so many Imprisonments and Exiles. But if they do not speak out and sucessfully identify Spies they won’t be around much longer, regardless if they survive all the Imprisonments and Exiles. Now is probably the worst time to enact silly strategies that hurt the Citizens in order to give you a small advantage at not being selected at Imprisonment. The Spies could be anyone and their criteria for selecting could be anything. It is a dubious idea that it would be worthwhile to screw over your entire group for a tiny theoretical advantage at one Imprisonment.
The 5 Spies have been outwitting, outlasting, and outplaying us for some time. Someone suggested in the Burg that making information public only helps the Spies. I doubt the truth behind this idea. Clearly the Spies are successfully integrated within the group. Once one Spy finds out something, all 5 Spies know it. Unless something is incredibly top secret between only a select trusted few, you can bet the Spies already have that knowledge. Since all of them already know, why not spread it to all the Citizens as well? It’s not like it could make the situation any worse.
For today’s Exile Questions you will ask each other things you want to know. You can continue with those questions for as long as you feel it will be helpful to the Citizens. While you are doing that, let’s get to the votes.
Sam stands up resolutely, picks up the voting shoebox, and begins walking amongst the townspeople. One by one, they drop their vote into the shoebox. Some are satisfied with their choice, others are nervous and unsure. Everyone - Citizens and Spies alike - are praying that their name does not come up.
Judge Sam: "All of the votes have been received and verified, and a result has been decided. Let the Exiling begin."
Vote Eins:
Miles, by Reicheru.
Miles, by Bebe.
Miles, by Claire.
Miles, by Tenchi.
That’s four votes for Miles.
Vote Funf:
Bruce, by Jack.
Jack, by Raphael.
Claire, by Matthew.
Bruce, by Miles.
4 Miles, 2 Bruce, 1 Claire, 1 Jack.
Vote Neun:
Miles, by Jessica.
Miles, by Brooks.
Vote Elf:
Miles, by Bruce.
Miles, by Taylor.
Vote Dreizehn:
Miles, by Jordan.
Miles, by Arthur.
Final Vote Count:
10: Miles
2: Bruce
1: Jack
1: Claire
Miles - You have been Exiled from the Burg under suspicion of being a Spy. It is now your time to leave. Goodbye.
Judge Sam: "Thank you for playing. When I first saw your application and talked to you I was excited for you in the game. You had read about previous Spies seasons and seemed to know much about them. I hope you enjoyed playing in one yourself. It’s unfortunate that you waited so long to inherit a role and then be eliminated as soon as you got one. You mentioned that you were laying low trying not to be noticed until that happened but I guess that didn’t work out as you had hoped. Thanks for posting confessionals and conversations and keeping me updated. Hope to talk to you more soon and see you at the Finale.”
Miles: Please post Final Words in your confessional immediately.
Miles takes one last look at their former friends. Saddened by being suspected of a Spy by the people they trusted, they take their supplies and compass and head out into the wilderness, disappearing into the sunset. You will never see them again.
It is now time to find out if this person was truly a Spy. If they were, we will rejoice in becoming one step closer to safety and security. If they were not, we just cast out an innocent soul. Someone just like us. Someone who wanted to eliminate the Spies just as badly as we do.
Miles was a....
Citizen!
Judge Sam: “Miles was a Citizen Inheritor. As soon as someone with a role was eliminated (except for certain circumstances) he would inherit that role. It took a long time for that to happen but just 3 days ago Miles inherited Anneliese’s Builder ability for himself, with a new code word and less points. He was just 10 points away from building a Bunker that would keep people safe from Imprisonment. So much for that Bunker being completed now.
If it wasn’t obvious before, the Spies have us completely wrapped around their little fingers. All 14 of us attended the live exile tonight, and I bet all 5 Spies were in a separate chat room plotting and scheming for their next move. They are clearly some of the best Spies the game has ever seen, with not a single one standing out as suspicious. Perhaps we shouldn’t be disappointed because the Spies are so amazing it would be hard for anyone to catch them. It seems as if many of them have achieved that “sweet spot” in the game where they are not suspicious enough to be Exiled, but not confirmed enough that is odd that they are not Imprisoned. I am quickly losing hope.
However there is one thing the Spies did not know, and that is in two days we will have an Emergency Exile. The second of two planned Double Exile Rounds was not scheduled for Episode 6. However never in my wildest dreams did I imagine we would not have a single Spy caught by now. We might not even make it the second Double Exile Round! So, in this state of emergency I have moved it up to now. We only have two more chances left before the Citizens lose the game for good. One of them is on Tuesday.
One last thing. There are 5 Spies in the game and 13 people in it. One would think that if there was a serious push to get rid of an actual Spy, there would be quite a number of people against it naturally. It also seems to me that our last few Exiles: Miles, Carrie, Jennipher, and Judith… all share some common attributes, besides the fact that they are all Citizens. Perhaps we should look outside the box and not keep travelling stubbornly down this disastrous path.
No one really listens to anyone else, and if you try it for a while you'll see why.
