Welcome to your first Challenge! This weekend you will be racing through nine forums, answering questions and solving puzzles along the way.
The two players who complete the race in the fastest time receive Immunity in Episode 3! First place will receive Immunity for both Imprisonment AND Exile #3, and second place will receive Immunity for just Imprisonment #3. Both Spies and Citizens alike may find these rewards tempting, so sharpen your pencils and your wits and prepare to race.
Here's how the race will work:
The Race in Action
1) Prepare a time to run the race during the weekend. I will then log onto AIM when it is your time to start. When you are ready, I will give you the password to Part 1 and will make a start post in your confessional. Your time begins!
2) Start at Part 1 and read the instructions inside. It will ask you a question that you are supposed to use Google and Wikipedia to solve. Once you think you have the answer, input it as the password to Part 2 (all passwords are in all lower-case letters with no spaces. spelling counts!)
3) Read the instructions in Part 2 and continue on the race, answering questions, solving puzzles, and inputting the answers to the next section.
4) Find the password in Part 9 and input that password into the Finish Line. In the Finish Line will be a thread with a stop word in it. Post that stop word in your confessional in the thread that I created with your start time to stop the clock. Fastest time wins!

The Two Kinds of Questions There are two kinds of questions in the Race. 1) Trivia QuestionsThese are questions that you must use Google and Wikipedia to look up the answer to on the Internet. While some questions can be answered from the general Wikipedia page, some answers can NOT be found on Wikipedia. Nevertheless it may prove helpful for general information. Example Questions: - Who was the ruler of Egypt in 340 B.C.?
- What is the title of Charlie Chaplin's last movie he directed?
- What is the customer service phone number for the Microsoft Xbox?
It is up to you to use Google effectively to answer these questions. You have to decide which search terms to put in the Google box to find the answer and which websites to look at. Each question has an informational paragraph before it, you may find these helpful in selecting the correct search terms or narrowing down your search. Be sure to read the notes at the bottom of each post that start with "The password:" which summarizes the question and also gives you notes on how to input the password into the box. ALL passwords are all lower-case letters, no spaces, english characters, and must be spelled correctly. If there are numbers use the numerals (3, 44, 1943).Examples of correctly inputted passwords: maria, bobsaget, henry8, 1994, 33, lookbeforeyouleap, zafeerakf, naive 2) PuzzlesThere are puzzles during the race which you must solve to get the next password. Each puzzle is different. Read the directions very carefully so you know what you must be doing to get the password. The instructions will be as clear as possible but rushing through them may cause problems later on. The puzzles are intended to be frustrating to complete under pressure. Taking your time and methodically completing them may prove to your advantage. The instructions will clearly tell you how to input the answer you get from the puzzle as the password to the next Part.
