Day 01: Tenchi: “I'm actually excited by how this game is going to be. I've waited ALL DAY hitting refresh on the front page for six hours.” 26 people checked into the game within the first 15 hours. Some of the 15 in the main game had trouble starting conversations, but Jennipher, Tenchi, Jessica, Judith, Jakub, and Reicheru seemed the most chatty. Opening chat went well. It went eerily quiet as these roles were given: The Builder - Anneliese The Inheritor - Miles The Decision Maker - Shane Spy - Tenchi Spy – Jessica.
Day 01 SM: Secret Mission #1: Stay secret. Each person got the name of one person to PM. That person would have another name that they could talk to. Contacts rose quickly throughout the day, surprising people on how many hidden players there were. Taylor: “THERE ARE SO MANY OF US! I can't believe it, I seriously can't ...” Around the time of the live Exile, two groups of people were in contact with each other: Taylor, Trina, Claire, Bruce and Bebe, Rapheal, Jordan, Matthew. These groups were seperate for most of day one. Jordan: ”Having never played the game before I've spent a lot of time looking over the board and checking out google and wikipedia trying to make sure I have a good handle on how the game is played. I'm feeling slightly more confident and heavily more excited about playing.”
Day 02: Jennipher became an early star. On the first day she had been online and chatty with everyone. Jessica created a super-bold plan involving "Lovers" which involved confessing to Miles that she was a Spy. A complicated plan would protect Jessica even if Miles told everyone she was a Spy. It was gently suggested that she hold off on her plan and think about it for a few days. Shane: “The cast for this game is into the role playing aspect a lot.” Tenchi and Jessica are really active and make lots of plots and plans and voice their opinions openly. It's an effective strategy. Some people decide Jack is super suspicious and want him out. Jack fell for Jessica's "Imagine Trap" in which she used the word “imagine” in an ambiguous way to "catch" people who had talked to him. Anneliese divulges her Builder role to Jennipher on the very night she learns of it. Anneliese begins to suspect Jennipher: "When I was divulging the information about my secret ability, she said "Oh... a Citizen's Secret Ability." That immediately confused me, as if she knew there would be abilities of another sort, or as if I posed a threat to her." Anneliese gives Jennipher a fake word. Jessica, Miles, and Jennipher participate in a “Hot Tub Scene” which becomes graphic. Jessica: “As Jennipher and I chat seductively to Miles, the sexy tennis instructor, the ball is now in his side of the court.” Tenchi forms an alliance with Reicheru and Anneliese. Tenchi and Jessica are suspicious that there are only 2 Spies. Jessica: “I think we need to keep in mind the possibility that we are not the only spies. Have you ever heard of games where there are two groups of spies?” Tenchi: “I'm quite confused as to where "the collective" is going to pick up. Maybe Anneliese was telling the truth. The Citizens are building a shelter.”
Day 02 SM: Meanwhile, the circle is beginning to become complete for members of the Secret Mission. Audrey meets Taylor, which causes the two groups to come together and that night all 11 players become known to most people. They begin to chat a little, but not too much. Some are quiet, including Brooks, Matthew, Claire, and Sujata. The talkative ones are Bebe, Bruce, Raphael, Taylor, and Trina.
Day 03: Anneliese divulges her Builder role to Tenchi, Jack, and Reicheru and gives them full information. She asks them all to post the word, only Reicheru does. They suspect Jennipher. Imagine is Imprisoned. Shane, Jennipher, and Carrie begin to suspect Tenchi. Carrie: ”Tenchi has by far been the most outgoing and talkative player but it remains to be seen if that is just his tactic to avoid being seen as a spy.” Jennipher: “At this point it's still hard to tell who is honest and who is really a spy, but besides [Jack and Tenchi] I am planning on keeping my eye on Jessica and Judith.” Reicheru lists 10 out of 13 others as possible Spies: “JESSICA - Probable citizen. TENCHI - Almost certain citizen, possible super-aggressive spy.”
Day 04: Exile day. A bunch of people begin to push for Jakub, who is seen as silent, unhelpful, and suspiciously quiet. The Exile approaches and people are online for hours trying to decide on someone. Many random votes are counted, as some people are in the loop and some are not. In the end a voting block including Leena, Jessica, Judith, Reicheru, and Miles decided to vote for Jakub, thinking he was an unhelpful Citizen if not a Spy. Tyler and Jakub tie at Exile. A live revote takes place, players have 19 minutes to discuss and vote. Jakub enters the chat during this revote. Some people want Jakub out because they think he is a Spy, others want Tyler out to prevent the next Exile from being useless. In the first terrible decision of the game, the Voting Block decides to vote Jakub. He is Exiled 7-5. Shane: “Well, we have just witnessed one of the biggest blunders by a group of Citizens in Spies history.” Jakub: “I may be bitter or angry at some of you now. But it's a game, I'll get over it.”
Day 04 SM: The Secret Mission group gets their next task. They must solve a series of puzzles to get their AIM password so they can talk to each other on AIM. Each is given a piece of an incredibly complex puzzle, only when they gather all the pieces together can they solve it. They share pieces. Trina and Taylor bond over PM.
Day 05: Carrie begins to become suspicious due to her switched vote at the Revote of Exile #1. Reicheru: “Sam, I'm gonna call it... I think the spies are CARRIE, LEENA and SHANE.” Tenchi: “I will try to raise suspicion on Anneliese or a semi-inactive like Carrie or Leena. I will suspect them by pointing out their "jumping on bandwagons"” It is a day off.
Day 05 SM: But it is not a day off for Secret Missioners. People were sharing their clues for their AIM password and making tons of progress. Brooks was replaced for being inactive. At 5:00 PM CST they found all the clues and began to break into their AIM names. Claire was the first on AIM. Taylor followed soon after. Bebe, Bruce, Trina all got on that first night and began talking. As soon as the second person got on AIM, it trigged immediate reveal of Identities to the 11 Intruders. Trina - Do or Die
Taylor - Gift Giver Bebe – Spy Raphael – Spy Claire – Spy. Trina: “In addition we got our identities and I am proud that I am a citizen with a power. It is a powerful ability as well so I can't wait to see how I will use it in the game.”
Day 06: The Race was revealed and people began racing. Many found it difficult, particularly the last connect-the-dots puzzle which 10 of 23 people could not complete. The Secret Missioners would race as well. Reicheru and Tenchi begin to bond more, sending love letters to each other. Many people say: "If Tenchi's a spy, he's a supremely good actor." Carrie's name began to come up more and more. Tyler returned from a long period of inactivity and came online one night and did the race. Anneliese isn't fond of Arthur. Jessica and Tenchi continue to successfully deceive everyone, being put as "most likely to be citizen" on many people's suspicions. Carrie, Jennipher, and Judith rise on everybody’s spy suspicions.
Day 06 SM: Secret Mission people continued to log onto their AIM names and talk to each other. Many people logged on and began chatting. Trina and Bebe bond, so do Bruce and Bebe, along with others.
Day 07: The Voting Block of Leena, Reicheru, Judith, Miles, and Jessica becomes even more suspicious to some. Carrie: “While I don't really trust Jessica and she voted for Jakub too, she is right to call me out on my bandwagon voting. I guess I was voting in my own self-interest by agreeing with the group I suspected had more if not all of the spies. Foolish, I know.” Leena: “I am also suspecting Judith at this time. She was WAY to into Jakub last round and just kept on and kept on. I am definitely keeping my eye on her. Other than that, things are going well. I don't think I am in much danger, but who knows? A spy could be spyin' on me as we speak! Yeep!”
Day 08: Miles: “Jennipher has this, um, "aura" about her, if you will. I don't think it's the fact that she doesn't answer questions as much as she asks them, but the fact that she's just "there" most of the times. I mean, even when she and Jessica tried to have sex with me, I hardly noticed she was there.” Tenchi and Jessica, after a rough Episode One, begin to not be suspected at all. Anneliese: “Citizens: 1: Reicheru & Tenchi *I'm 99.9% sure they are both safe* 2. Jessica” Imprisonment #2: Leena is Imprisoned. Reasons why: she is intelligent, she is in the Voting Block, ally of most informed Jennipher, and a wild shot. Leena: “Dang it! I really enjoyed this game. Stupid spies! If I had to chose who I thought were spies at this point, it would be Jennipher, Judith, and Jessica. Tenchi is also high on my suspicion list. As always, you have put together an extremely cohesive, elaborately themed game. You have a talent, my friend. I only with someone would pay you lots of money to do it. Heehee! (I'm sure you do, too!)” [Yes I do. =)]
Day 08 SM: Audrey: “Raphael… Something tells me that I need to write SPY in big, fat letters on his forehead. I dunno, the dude just seems kinda shady to me.” Bruce: “The game hasn't really hit full swing yet, but I have a feeling that it's coming up on Monday...”
Day 09: Exile #2. Many people decide to vote Carrie. Reicheru: “I am very nervous about tonight. Firstly because there's a lot of people voting Carrie and I'm not convinced she's a spy.” Tyler’s inactivity is uncertain due to the fact that he logged on and talked with Jessica and Anneliese one night. Carrie, Jack, and Judith receive votes. Jack and Tenchi swap votes. Tyler is Exiled with 12 self-votes.
The Doubling: Race Results revealed. 9 Secret Missioners are waiting patiently in their own chat. Raphael is the first new person to be revealed. Sorin the Seeker: Then, with a time of 54 hours we have... spies3Reicheru: I not look forward to this... I know who is next... Sorin the Seeker: Raphael! spies3Tenchi huh? spies3Anneliese: who is Raphael? spies3Anneliese: the Ninja Turtle? spies3Raphael has entered the room. spies3Raphael: hi spies3Jessica: or the painter spies3Anneliese: oh dear spies3Tenchi: .... spies3Anneliese: a twist? spies3Anneliese: this really is "The collective"! 11 new people enter the game officially, shocking everyone. Strangely, many originals sign off after the reveal, leaving new players to talk to only a few. Bebe and Judith win Immunity.
Spy Headquarters welcomes three new Spies: Claire, Bebe, and Raphael. Both Raphael and Claire predict Bebe as a Spy before they enter. Claire waits before posting in the HQ, scaring Bebe by accusing her of being a Spy directly. Bebe: “shit claire you almost made me poop my pants” Tenchi and Jessica decide to stick together in the face of 3 new Spies: spies3Tenchi: Its ok. I just want to tell you that if any shit happens between the newer spies, I will always protect you over anybody else. spies3Jessica: same here
Day 10: Jessica on The Race: “That challenge gave us a good indication of who is playing dumb and who is dumb.” Reactions to the twist. Anneliese: “New people? HELL NO. I did not just do all that deduction to figure out that it's possible that 0 of us were spies.” Trina tells Bebe of her Do or Die power: “So Bebe and I have gotten a lot closer. She is so adorable and I trust her so much. It got to the extent that I told her my secret power. If she is a spy though, it guarantees me this week imprisonment safety because she has my trust. So she'll try to keep me for a while because i trust her so much so its a good move on my part.” Taylor gives a Citizen Role Investigation to Bruce.
Day 11: Trina receives a Gift from the mysterious Gift Giver granting her Immunity through Imprisonment. She quickly blabs to two Spies: “So I was having this conversation with Tenchi and then all of sudden, he says he might have an ability to determine who is a citizen for sure. God, then I BLAB saying i have an ability and I just revealed myself to him. It sucks cause I wanted to keep things a secret and its so early on.” Jordan: “So... I'm still here. I'm not inactive or anything. I'm a little scared after what happened to Tyler... I'm on the board a lot, just not on AIM as much as I should be I guess. Anyway, the game seems to be happening all around me and I guess I'm just laying low? There's a lot of people in this game and keeping a low profile could actually get me pretty far.” Bruce: “Claire gave me the only spy vibes on day one.” Bruce does w00t or scr00t. w00t: Jack, Audrey, Tenchi, Bebe, Taylor, Reicheru, Jessica. scr00t: Trina, Claire, Anneliese. Bruce forms an alliance of trust with Audrey. Claire: “Bruce – Has a mind of his own. I like the guy, but he scares the living day lights out of me. Bruce is a threat to the spies, at least I think he will be.” Reicheru creates fake role Seer to give her opinions more weight.
Day 12: Anneliese: “yes, I would be screwed if Tenchi, Reicheru, or Jess were spies.” Anneliese tells her second Imprisonment lie: “I've been telling this BS that I found some secret immunity item that keeps me safe from Imprisonments and if Spies try to do it anyway, they lose 1 from their ranks at random. I guess I told the right people cause it spread like wildfire.” Imprisonment #3. Audrey is taken by the Spies. Reasons why: Threat down the road, not expected, semi-active, new person. Taylor and Bruce are other options. Audrey: “Well damn, I honestly was not expecting to go this soon, and the only reason I can think of is that I got a high score on the challenge. Oh well. I wish my fellow Citizens good luck, and it was great playing with everyone. I had a good time.” Matthew: “I liked Audrey, we both had green fonts.” Bruce investigates Reicheru. He is told she does not have a role, thus could be a Citizen or a Spy.
Judge Sam: “Jesus. There's so many good Spies. I've never had a problem where all my Spies were just too good before. This is wierd. Jessica and Tenchi have had essentially no suspicion. So crazy. Bebe, Claire, and Raphael have had a little... which is wierd, because I dont think too many of the SMers have.” Shane: “The conversation with Bebe... Everything we talked about is insane. We covered all bases. At the end, I feel I can trust her more than anyone, and I'd be willing to give her an alliance. There's nothing right now to deter me from trusting her with my life in this game.” Judith: “As of now, I really do believe that there are more spies in the newer group.” Judith: “I am trying to work everyone and be on their good, trusting sides. Except Bebe, who is my number one suspect and annoys me quite a bit!” Brooks is annoyed with Bebe: “The players that stand out the most to me are the crazy ones. Bebe, Claire, and Judith. Bebe is a fucking idiot. I also could see Bebe as a spy.”
Day 13: Trina is on the hunt for the Gift Giver. She PMs this to many people to suss them out: "I was thinking about Christmas last night and I had this though of wanting to be Santa Clause. Have you ever wanted to be Santa Clause and give gifts to little kids?" Taylor: “i'd be devastated if trina was a spy. i love her!” Arthur: “I have accused Bebe somewhat, and it's odd that when Bebe signed on, she didn't talk to me like normal.”
Exile #3. Carrie and Judith both get large numbers of votes. Reicheru plots to get good friend Judith out, but manages to make it so this push is not traced back to her. Reicheru: “Enter JUDITH. Spy #1, the big kahuna. At the start I thought her a strong suspect because she refused to give away too much. She immediately started playing a lot more actively. Tenchi was very suspicious of this change, and he was right to be. I still do not think Tenchi can be a spy. If he is, he's better at it than me, because I've not caught him in a single mistake yet.” Judith is Exiled and revealed to be a Citizen. Judith: “I am writing to you now, as I have been clearly exiled. I am saddened to see that I have been ousted by those clever spies under false pretenses. I will never forget this.”
Day 14: Arthur posts in the Burg asking people with roles to tell him and he will keep it a secret and tell everyone. This causes him to have massive suspicion. Claire brings color to the Spies by offering different opinions and a unique personality. She confers with other Spies to decide how to perfectly word her post in the Burg. Claire: “i want everything (CONCISELY) that you guys know about everyone and anything” Bebe: “Claire is starting to pinch my leg a little. By that, I mean that she is annoying me and I want to slap her so she'll stop!” Shane got his Decision Maker power for Episode 4. He could save any number of people, but faced self-votes if he did so. Taylor gives Raphael two extra votes (with a self-vote) and herself Mismatch. Taylor tells Trina she is the Gift Giver; Trina tells Taylor she can Do or Die. Bruce tells Taylor he Reicheru does not have a Citizen role, she tells Trina. Taylor and Trina bond and trust each other as Citizens.
Anneliese receives a Bunker Progress Report. She only has 6 points. Anneliese: “Are you SURE I only have 6? I should have 14 by now from the people I told... gah!” Anneliese reveals her role and this update publicly in the Burg, starting a raucous discussion where various accusations take place. Jack, Reicheru, and Tenchi are the main 3 suspected. Their points do not add up. Jennipher and Jessica are also involved, but to a lesser extent. Many people admit they didn’t actually post it. Some confusion arises over how to post the word. After much quabbling and rules clarifying it was narrowed down to Tenchi – 2 Jack – 1 Reicheru – 2. With Tenchi the Spy being the liar. But there is also confusion on Jennipher/Jessica at this moment. No one knows who is lying - Tenchi, Reicheru, Anneliese, or Jack, though most people do not think it is Tenchi.
Day 15: Costume Party begins. Shane selects four people to save from Imprisonment at the cost of 6 self-votes: Anneliese, Arthur, Jack, and Reicheru. The Imprisonment goes back and forth during the deadline. From Anneliese to Brooks to Taylor and finally back to Anneliese after Raphael reveals his gift, making Spies believe there is no one to save Anneliese this round since at this point they believe there is only one gift per episode. They select Anneliese. Anneliese is Saved at Imprisonment, but this is not revealed.
The Spies are aware that Bruce did a Citizen Investigation but believe it to be a separate role, not involved with gifts. Bruce is trustworthy within them as well. Taylor does Mismatch with Trina and Anneliese and is told Match, making her believe they are both Citizens. Taylor tells this to Trina. Trina tells Bruce. Taylor tells Trina not to tell Anneliese this information. At this point there is a gigantic group of Citizens who trust each other and no Spy is aware of any of this happening over the past few days. Trina tells Anneliese about the Gift Giver and that they were matched. Trina leaves out who the Gift Giver is (Spies are not certain who it is, but believe it to be Taylor and a few other people). Trina tells all to Anneliese, including the fact that Bruce did a Citizen Investigation on Reicheru. Earlier Reicheru, who is a Citizen, had made up a fake Seer role to Anneliese, who he believed a Citizen, so his words would carry more weight within group discussions. They did, which is why Jakub and Judith were Exiled. This information sends huge warning flags out to Anneliese, who gets more information from Trina and spreads this information around. Because Reicheru is involved in the Builder drama there is incredible suspicion on her.
Trina, who had been spreading information left and right even though she was plead with and pleaded to other people to keep it a secret, started spilling everything to Bebe, who Trina trusted but Anneliese and Taylor did not. One by one she spills everything to Bebe who immediately posts it in the Spy Headquarters. Bebe tells Shane she thought he saved Anneliese and he admits to Bebe this and also his self-votes. Jack posted the first public thread in the Burg about the Builder Drama, causing information to pour out.
Jessica attempts to blow up the Bunker by posting past codewords. It fails. Through Tenchi she learns of the newest codeword. She posts it.
